India A vs Sri Lanka A Final: India A Wins Tri-Series by 66 Runs

India demolished Sri Lanka A by a huge margin of 66 runs to win the Tri-Nation A Series final played at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday. On the other hand, the young Indian team stood tall with their all-round performance with both bat and ball to end a successful tournament on a sweet high.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the 16-year-old who played an instrumental role in building a solid base for India’s comfortable win, won Player of the Match. His aggressive stroke play blown away the Sri Lankan bowling attack and India A put on a big total.

India A Post Massive Total of 377/9

India A posted an imposing score of 306 after being asked to bat by Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old blasted 94 runs from only 29 balls, with ten fours and eight sixes included.

Sooryavanshi scored his fifty in just 11 balls to break the List A record. He made 94 runs but his innings turned the match in India’s favor. It was really tough going, as Sri Lanka A could not recover from the early onslaught.

The calm 67 off 90 balls from captain Tilak Varma was the right foil. India A 377/9 (50 overs) As a result of substantial lower-order contributions, including a brisk one from Anukul Roy, India A were able to post an intimidating target of 377/9 in their allotted 50 overs.

Sri Lanka A Fight Back but Fall Short
